The Outercasts takes place in an apocalyptic future where the Earth is no longer habitable. Devastation has bestruck the planet and humanity is on its last dying breaths, desperately looking for a solution.

The only hope at survival belongs to a small community of people in the Western United States known as The Outercasts. They have devised a plan to leave Earth using rocket ships that they have developed and travel to Mars where they will begin a new colony called Marstopia.

The journey is long and dangerous. There is little safety in outer space and living on Mars will not be any easier, but all of it trumps the difficulties of living on the hellscape that Earth has become in the year 2069.
